A New Village Green
In conjunction with Sligo County Council we designed a new public park for the village and townland. The park covers two separate spaces linked through a similar language of materials, fixings and planting.
Reimagining The Castle Field
Created for the local town council we designed a Landscape Plan for the large site; centred around the extensive archeological heritage elements on site, and encompassing fresh ideas around creating a living legacy for the town, shelter for people and wildlife and a series of mix use spaces for the community.
Planting for Civic Space
Planting design by Faoin Aer for this new public space in the centre of Sligo's second largest town, Tubbercurry. A Pendulus Birch and a pair of multi-stemmed Cornus will provide height and perches for birds.
The lower layers are planted with mix of ever green and deciduous grasses and small shrubs. The addition of a variety of bulbs will create seasonal interest, provide colour and enrich biodiversity in the area. Landscape Design by Noji - Architects Sligo. Planted by Flannery & Sons Landscaping

Boyne Ecology Park
A piece of work created during the Masters in Landscape Architecture in UCD. The project sought to discreetly explore the Boyne River valley outside Drogheda town.A series of pathways and path types were envisioned, allowing for wider and more sustainable exploration of the riparian landscapes. From hoggin paths, to elevated timber walkways to bridges linking spaces as Desirelines were realised and once divided spaces
Soft Flood Alleviation Study for Tolka River
A piece of work created during the Masters in Landscape Architecture in UCD. The project investigated the history of flooding events along the length of the Tolka over the past 300 years.
Three sites were chosen in Dublin's north inner city and a series of Soft Engineering measures were developed for each site as they were . becoming more and more urgent as time proved the winter following the submission of this project.
That winter the Tolka River burst her banks at innumerable locations defy the hard engineering works that have seeked to canalise the river, failed to such a degree that new softer options have been adopted since.

Sligo Park(ing) Day
PARK(ing) Day is an annual worldwide event where community members transform parking spots into temporary public spaces by reclaiming space from cars for people. Sligo Park(ing) Day 2015 was the beginning of an awakening to the value of public open space for people, nature and sustainable urban centres. Thanks to everyone who came along and engaged and enjoyed the event, to all our participants who transformed the car parkings space into attractive, fun temporary mini parks, to Sligo County Council for the great support in realising the event and to Fionn Mac Arthur for the fantastic video. Enjoy & keep on Park(ing)!
